PlanM / 2009- ongoing
The center of Oldenzaal has a rich history. The tracks are still visible in many ways: in the grid, in the nearly circular city plan and the monumental St. Plechelmusbasiliek in the city centre.
The assignment includes a Master Plan in order to get a first assessment for new developments in the town and to make the existing but well ‘hidden’ qualities of the historic city centre visible.
This Master Plan describes a spatial policy that is not only about buildings and public space, but also about 'new programs’ and social structures. After all, it is not only the stone but also the doings of the inhabitants and visitors that make a town interesting and bring it to life.
